We've all heard that martyrs to Islam, upon arrival in heaven, receive the attention of 70 beautiful female virgins, or, as we call 'em, ji-hotties.
The use of the word hottie to refer to a person who is sexually attractive feels modern, but it’s actually over 100 years old, with the OED’s earliest citation coming from 1913. It derives, of course, from the adjective hot, “sexy, sexually aroused,” which goes way back to the 14th century. Hottie is not an insult per se, but when blended with the word jihad, "a Muslim holy war against unbelievers," then the contrast between the overt sexuality of the former and the religious purity of the latter makes for a pungent insult, indeed.
